Gas Tax Holiday

Everyone is up in arms over the price of gas, which drives up the price of food and everything else we have to buy, or think we have to buy in order to survive. So, the powers that be have proposed a “gas tax holiday” for the summer. And everyone is being led (can you say sheep) to believe that this will solve all our problems and that everyone will be able to travel and have more money in there pockets in order to get the economy back on track.

Well, I have been thinking. With my overall savings being 29.95 USD, I’ll be able to go out
and maybe by a book. As for being able to travel farther, I highly doubt it. First of all, I will actually save nothing when compared to last year. And that is what it should come down to, having a savings that is better than last year. And if anyone thinks that, in the end, we won’t have to pay even more for this assinine “holiday”, think again, very hard. The oil companies are just salivating over the fact that they will being charging even more when this is all over. After all, they have to make up for the lost revenues. Remember, this tax supposedely pays for the infrastructure of our country. so we either have roads and highways crumbling and bridges falling, or we have even higher gas prices.

If you were to ask me, fuck the “gas tax holiday”, I’ll take my chances with the tax in place, At least then I know what I am in for: higher prices anyway.
